Shared Nested Family - Inherit Room Calculation Point from Host Family?

I am trying to nest door signage families (face-based Generic Models) into a door family. There are some conditions where a sign is placed on a wall that doesn't belong to the room the door leads to (see example below). To get the right Room data associated with the signage instances (for signage schedules in the project), it would be nice if the nested signage family could inherit its Room data from the host Door family. Is this possible / default behavior? or will the nested signage family always report its own Room Calculation Point to the project schedule?

No, but the sign can be made Room-Aware  via Room Calculation Point.

So I will need to anticipate the location of the sign in relation to the door, and place the sign's Room Calculation Point accordingly?

- duplicate the nested family, turn on Room Aware and point it to where the room should be

- create several iterations for different room / sign location relationships

- load them in the host family, add a <Family Type...> instance parameter to create a list of choices to select one from the different nest family iterations above in project

Place the Signage directly in the Project. Don't nest a Sign Family into the Door Family. You're just hamstringing yourself.
