Shape Handle Precision and Torelance

Hello BIM Baboons!

I am using Parts and having trouble using the shape handle edit tool beyond 1/4" precision. Is there a way to change this? It seems like zooming in gets me to go from inch to 1/2 or 1/4, but after that i have to zoom in so far i can no longer read what the annotation shows. Selecting the wall then changing its dimension from something gives me a "Can't change dimension segment to this value." error. Please advise.

Thanks!

Dragging a shape handle is vague...and arbitrary. When you want to change a wall length precisely, use the TAB key to cycle through the selection options for the wall. One of the tips (or Status Bar feedback) will report "shape handle" when you use TAB (don't hold it down, press once, twice...etc). When that appears you should also see the very end of the wall is highlighted separately. Now you can use the Move tool enter a precise length (or enter a value into the temporary dimension).

Not sure I understand. You're modifying the extents of a Wall Layer (via a Part Shape Handle) and are having difficulty controlling precise movement? Do you not have Temporary Dimensions available when you activate the Shape Handle?

Seems to work. Thanks!
