Hi, Does anyone know the best way(texture with a bump or several reveals) to create wall reveals that mentioned in attached file. Please consider that each elevation has three walls (basement, first and second floor wall). Thanks for any help
Model them and apply a material to them if you're wanting better delineation it the view (e.g. shadows).
It has a noticeable thickness so I would do one of the following:
- wrap a thin wall around the corner and place/array in-place horizontal reveals
- wrap a curtain wall around the corner, use horizontal mullions for the embosses and empty panel for the reveals
p/s: I normally favor using texture and surface patterns but this is one of those cases I would resort to actually model it
I have seen it done with:
1. A coin family, with dimension parameters, nested into...
2. ...a line-based family, wherein...
3. ...the coin is used for an array along the line, including...
4. ...array number parameter driven by line length divided by coin height, and...
5. ...array spacing parameter driven by coin height.
Then you can just look at your model in 3D and place this family by clicking at the bottom of the corner and the top of the corner. The array of coins pops onto the corner, and the number and spacing of them adjusts as you change the coin height.
Have to get the parameters linked through from the host family to the nested coin family correctly for it to work. Might take you some trial-and-error time to get it working the way it should if it's your first time messing with something like this. But otherwise it's great. You can schedule the coins and everything.
