is there a way to set one specific view that you want your linked model to display rather than having to go though each view within your host model and then hiding the same things over and over again in the visibility graphics view?

When you link the file in you can tick Current View Only and select the floor plan you want it on
Unless you mean link Revit files, then I don't think there is anyway.
Apart from selecting in each view, right click and hide in view (or select and Keyboard EH)
You could put the linked model on a new workset and uncheck the box that says "visible in all views" and then just turn it on in the views you need it in.
I'm talking about hiding things like the grid lines in the linked model and not having to go into all my views in the host model and hide the grid lines of the linked model, I can probably do it by setting up a view template but I want to know if it would be possible do it without setting up a view template.
If the file that you are linking in has Worksets established, you can use Manage Links to unload/close any Worksets from that file that you don't want to see. If they are not loaded/open, items on those Worksets are not visible in any views.
