setting material property

Hi,

I have 2 panels. I want to set the meterialproperty as follow:

panel 1 (see pict 1): green flat appearance in 3d-model, and gray flat appearance in 2d revit-sheet

panel 2 (see pict 2): green flat appearance in 3d-model, and crosshatch (black-white) in 2d revit-sheet

Question:

Something is wrong with the setting of the both panels. Does anyone know how I can fix to the wished materialproperty?

Kind regards,

peter smith

Same applies to both Panels

To show the green color:

  1. Visual style in both Views should be Shaded
  2. Remove the Background solid surface pattern
  3. Make sure the "Use Render Appearance" is unchecked

To show second view (the section) to show gray while the first remain green:

  • Either set a Cut solid pattern and make sure the section cuts the element

  • OR if the section is actually an elevation too, the you need to override by element or category

The result of the last one exactly what I want.

Is it possible to arrange this overrule setting in the material property, because there are a lot different paneltypes in a project?

@peter__smith

You can set up the Override By Category (of by filter) and add/use that in a view template

Example:

  1. in one section >> Override By Category instead of element
  2. then Go to View Tab >> View Templates  >>> Create template from view
  3. Then in the Project Browser select all the sections or elevations and on the Properties Pallet apply the template

When you apply it to the Section views they will all be overridden (See GIF below)

Thx for the explanation. I already used viewtemplate for the elevation drawing.

If the appearance panel in the 2d sheet has to be adjusted to another colour, than I have to use "filter" function.

Isn't it?

Kind regards,

You override elements on views and place views on sheets...meaning whatever override by filter or by any means is applied to the view
