Set up a view that tracks a family

Hey,

Anyone know how to set up a view that tracks a component ?

In my revit model I have an assembly of plywood components that i'll eventually have cut with a CNC machine.

There is a view of each component and a sheet with all views (components) in. I'll eventually send this sheet of parts to a CNC cutter firm.

Anyway, I now have to move the entire assembly up by 200mm. Annoyingly, I'll have to go into all 167 views and ensure each view still captures it's component, ie that the component hasn't moved out of view.

But, if i could somehow lock a view to a component that would be awesome and save loads of time in the future. Anyone know how?

Thanks!

Hard to visualize what you are describing. Move up 200mm in relation to what?  Maybe the solution is to move that "what" element or elements down 200mm.  Just thinking outside the box here.  Too far outside?

Assembly views need not be cropped so when the assembly's components moved, you just need to move the views on sheet, but no content should be omitted.

In case you don't want to move the assembly view on sheets, copy paste the Assembly to a Design Option or a different phase, then create Assembly views from the copied instance of the Assembly.
