If you want al 16 part to be equal you will have to dimension all in one function so all 16 are on the same dimension line and all are set to equal.
You now have divided them into smaller portions 1/4 length. You should use one dimension for all 16 parts when all parts are 1/16 of your desired length.
Will take a look at the family to see later on.
can you give any video tutorial ? i mean whatever the length is i want the distance between the web is still the same... thanks
Not a Video tutorial, sorry.
I have removed all 4 top EQ dimensions, Overhanged and double 'bottom chord span' EQ dimensions.
All left is Bottom chord span.
Created the 1/16 dimension between all vertical planes, and set them to EQ:
Removed the parameters 1/3 chord and 1/4 chord.
Added a formula for overhanged t (0.5 * bottom chord span)
Every length entered for the bottom chord span is 1/2 of the total length. the overspan is 1/2 bottom, so 1/4 total length.
Adjusted family is added.
See if this work for you.
hi buddy i have seen the formula. i just still confused about the formula. why when i click overhanged formula it turns to bottom chord span ? i dont undesrtand
I'm not sure what you mean. ![]()
Both parameters are linked, 'overhanged' reacts to changes made to 'bottom chord span' and vice-versa, when editing the family.
However when you have placed the family in your model only the 'bottom chord span' parameter will be adjustable.
If you don't want 'overhanged' to be half of 'bottom chord span' then your distance between the vertical planes cannot be equal for all 16 parts.
You will also have to check your Slope parameters. 'Slope1' is not adjustable/visisble in the model.
It should not be because the slope is a result of 'overhanged' and 'heigth1'
The same goes for 'slope2' this is visible but is a result of 0,5 * 'bottom chord span' and 'heigth2'
So both can/should 'report' a calculated value.
sorry i made truss family at the ref level but it should be at front level so when i load into project it just show 2d . how to fix that ?
look when i made new one and i change it the formula didnt work .
what happened ? i still dont get it.
i want the same distance betwen the web how long the span it is
what i mean is if the span i getting longer ,the web is more but with fix distance 1000 or something else (fixed distance)
or if the span is shorter the web become less with distance also 1000 or something else (fixed distance)

I don't think a truss family can do that. Normally the number of bays is fixed so you need to create different families if you want different numbers of bays. For example, the stock library comes with 5-bay , 7-bay, 9-bay, etc... truss families.
