Serious error - "Element's internal join data is corrupt"

Hi all,

I have a serious problem.

Some walls are refusing to delete or change in any significant way. This results in an Element's internal join data is corrupt error that cannot be resolved. The walls will not delete either.

The walls were originally drawn with an accidental offset at the top the resulted in overlapping walls that the architect didn't resolve at the time.

Could someone from Autodesk please advise on how to resolve this?

Thanks in advance.

Craig

Resolved via the Nuclear Option.

All intersecting walls across all floors were deleted...

There might be a resolution. But I don't have a one-size, fits-all solution to post. However, If you can post the project, I'll take a whack at it (figuratively speaking, of course). Typically when I see an error like that, the reason behind why it can't be resolved (or even deleted), is because it's a sub-error of a larger error that need to be resolved first.  A hierarchical thing.

Thanks. I resolved the problem - see above-. Sharing the model would never be an option, intellectual property risks etc.

Try cutting the wall and pasting it to the same place. After I did this I could remove the wall openings normally.

This worked for me -- thank you!

I just had this error trying to reset the profile of a wall.

I dragged all the joined walls back and edited the floor boundary to not be associated with the wall(wall pick) by using the standard line. basically isolating the wall. No need for nuclear.

Here is the fix! Dis allow join of what ever Element you are trying to modify. We had some beams that were throwing this error and wouldn't delete. Had my guy Disallow join (Clicked on beam-Right Click to bring up sub menu-disallow join) and we were able to delete the beam.
