Does anyone know where I can find a .pat file for semi-rigid insulation that looks more like the standard CAD insulation (ie like the attached pic)? I've tried making my own hatch patterns in the past with limited success (I have trouble wrapping my brain around the syntax and visualizing the end result). If anyone knows of a ready made file I'd be eternally grateful.

Hi
What I would do is make a Revit detail family that has lines to represent the hatch. It works really good with your attached image because the hatch doesn't scale itself when the thickness is changed.
I've used a line based detail family with an array of lines representing the desired hatch. Also with a calculated parameter to change the array count.
Oops @Anonymous I sort of hit the wrong button there. Not that that isn't a useful tool, but I want to make a hatch so that I can apply it as a cut pattern to my 'semi-rigid insulation' material, the same way I have a diagonal cross-hatch applied to masonry. That way it automatically appears in plans/sections where I have a wall with continuous insulation being cut through.
In that case you can import a hatch from AutoCAD using the link below.

@Anonymous This is our standard we have saved to our Library: https://pattycake.io/pat/7Gg4p3lb1Br
But perhaps something like this would work better for your that image: https://pattycake.io/pat/v220E91bRYr
You can easily use the toggles and adjust it to see real time. I think in Revit you'll always have a bit difficulty getting that to align properly, so i'd try to make something your comfortable with wherever it cuts off the pattern. Let us know if we can help more!
