Section with 0 offset.

Hi all!

When I'm trying to make a section of a circular wall like this, Revit can't give back a plain section for me (use of this section will be for annotation and will be part of the construction documents).

I would like to have a "0 offset section" , because revit gives me a section like you can see in the next picture:

If try to make the "far clip offset" parameter =0, Revit ask for a number greater than 0.

I've tried to solve this setting the parameter as 0.001 , but when exporting to DWG final drawings the next problem appears:

Does Revit allow to do this in other way?

Thank you all.

Dont know really, maybe use linework(LW) and remove these little lines manually.

if you will use it in Revit only, I may think about making projection lines white in view.

Yeah, that's exactly what I mean with 'remove'. Haven't thought of a better method yet, but will let you know when I do ofcourse ^^ Perhaps you could try it with Dynamo.

Hi! How did you choose this option?

In section view I can't select the type of line.

FmyTtG3

Also I've tried to find the invisible line type in my revit version ... But I can't find it.

Can you help me to select the invisible type line in projection lines?

Thank you all!

You are in the wrong menu tab...Go to the Modify Tab

  1. First delete all the lines you already placed
  2. Exit all commands
  3. Type LW on your keyboard or go to Menu Tab > > Modify >> Linework...That is different than Symbolic lines

set Far Clip to 0.1 mm (1/256") and then turn Thin Line OFF in Revit and DWDISPLAY ON in AutoCAD.  Bet you don't even see it at normal scale and zoom.

hmmm by the way, if the goal is only getting these section lines into autocad, couldn't you just color your cutlines with visibility graphics (VG) and then select/filter for those lines in autocad and copy them or delete all the other lines?

I'm not sure I understand your point, @martijn_pater . My point was that a workaround may be unneccessary.  IME, with Far Clip reduced to a minimum, that linework isn't even detectible when the Revit/AutoCAD view at normal size, scale and pen weight.

Hi @barthbradley Sorry, I know I replied to last message but really not in reply to yours. It was just meant as alternative idea to the question at hand. If you want to do away with these additional lines that is, should be easy enough in Autocad. Your suggestion should work fine really, nobody will notice it. (however I do like to have clean lines though...)
