Hi there..
I have encountered a very unusual issue:
I have two Section views in a project, I could Duplicate them both and they did with a suffix - Copy 1 to the end. Normal Revit behavior, I understand that Revit doesnt allow you to have two views with the same name, but the title on the sheet can be same, logical.
But for some weird reason, I was able to rename the Duplicate Section-views to the same name as the original:
Attached are some images.
I now rename the views to something else and then again try to rename them same as the original and only now does it give me an error that a view with the same name exists? ist this a bug?
What am I missing?
Thanks for your help.
Cheers, K

Unless I'm missing something, your images do not show duplicate names. As you know, this cannot happen so there must have been a difference.
Hi Rob,
Thanks for the reply.
Yeah, they are not different, atleast Section A right now isnt.
But I was able to rename both of them the same as original. (weird) No using CharacterMap no nothing..
Then I changed the name of Section B to a lowercase b and then tried to do it back and only now it doesnt let it happen. (logical)
But as you see both section A have the same names. If I now try to rename one of them to something else and back to the orignal it doesnt work.
Anyway, I was just curious if this was a bug.

I'm not seeing it. The sections have different names in the images.
My apologies for not having pointed it out properly:
Thanks. K

I don't know how to help. Revit is seeing them as different. There's no way anyone can see what Revit might be seeing from just a screenshot.
Is this repeatable in other projects?
Thanks Rob, I will try and investigate that. No this doesnt happen in any other project only here..

It might be a good idea to archive and run an audit and do other file maintenance.
