I like to open my sections from a plan view and I also use dependent views. For whatever reason Revit automatically places both the section mark and the dependent view section marks on top of each other in plan view. I find myself selecting the dependent view (because apparently it defaults to on top) and this can potentially create issues for me when I select the wrong section. Is there a way to either disable the dependent mark, or have it move to the bottom, or have it not show up at all in the plan? I'm thinking there probably is a reason they have the dependent view on top but can't get my head wrapped around the actual reason. Maybe something to do with if you're going to delete something you probably want to delete the dependent view and not the "real" section view.....

You can create a view filter for sections using the criteria View Name does not include - Dependent. Add it to the view and turn it off.
