Section Cut Split Segment Stability

I'm experiencing a troublesome behavior where section views on sheets misbehave if I use the split segment function while in another section view. As I split, the section's crop region goes wild and often times the section view itself jumps off the sheet nearly 80' away from the titleblock.

Can this be stabilized?

In the attached image, the small square tot he right is my sheet and the large rectangle tot he left is the section crop region after the split. Also, note how far the view moved away from the titleblock.

This was moved from the Revit Ideas board to the Forums by "Discussion_Admin."

If proven this is an error within the software, I will post this again in the Ideas board and ask that the issue be resolved by Autodesk.

If someone can prove to me that I am using the tool incorrectly or there is a flaw in my methodology, I will adjust accordingly.

Since this has been moved to the Forums, I humbly ask others to evaluate and try the action I describe and provide their feedback. If you can recreate the scenario as I have shown (with the same deleterious results), please let me know via this post.

This issue is apparently a known problem within Revit, although it would seem very few users experience it.

If you modify the crop region of the section using the grip nodes of the view before you use the split segment tool, you will receive the faulty behavior.

Thank you Sam Nseir (Autodesk) for your assistance.

This bug is still occurring. I tried the tip from the last comment but to no avail.

February 2019 and this bug is still occurring in the latest Revit versions.

Does Autodesk not care about it's users and smooth running of the software?
Surely it's not something that's too difficult to fix, it's just a condition that prevents the change when a section is segmented.

In a real life scenario this shouldn't even be into question.
