Section box cut objects IFC Export

Hi, I am exporting to ifc and have a question about scope boxes and cutting geometry. What we are trying to do is use the scope box to export a room or a 'zone'. For instance, scope box around a single unit on a floor of a building - one with a single continuous wall that goes outside of the bounding box. From what I have seen it will not cut the geometry to within the scope box - the continuous wall will be exported at full length. I do see that exporting to dwg format will cut the wall, but ifc will not. Is it possible to cut objects to only what is in a section box using the ifc file format?

A scope box will not cut geometry it is only a visual tool that will not affect anything modeled. Have you tried exporting with the option "Export only elements visible in view" after using the Split Element tool to cut the wall where you need to at the edge of your scope box. (You can easily undo the split after export.)

@Anonymous  Honestly to tell - this is double work in the model. We can split the Wall for one floor level but what about 32 storey building.

But the weird part is section box works from export dwg file, but why not in Export IFC.

But recently we found a solution to create work around to get the sectioncut to IFC format, which is definitely not a straight approach.

1. Create the 3d view with section box and export to NWC from Revit.

2. Naviswork has an IFC export plugin

3. From Navisworks using the IFC plugin you can export to IFC format which seems to be export model with section cut.

This was working good.
