I am using Revit Architecture 2011. When i open a file, after some time screen becomes black and after clicking on the white blank tab which appears foreground of the black screen, for 4 /5 times It crashes. Anybody have a solution. Is it a graphic problem or something else. Please see attached screen shot of the problem.

Try this: "Big R" > Options > Grahphics tab > uncheck "Use hardware acceleration Direct3D"

is your software on subscription? IF so - you can put in a technical support 'ticket' directly with Autodesk about this issue. if not, contact your reseller and they can put in a 'ticket' for you.

other than that - I don't have a clue - never seen it before.

I tried the 'options' and it is not that.  I am having the computer staff here look into driver/Video card updates.  I just find it strange that I only have 3 computers out of the 20 that are effected, others work great.  I'm guessing they all have the same profile setup.  The issue began as a Roxio error so I uninstalled Roxio on those PC's thinking that would resolve the issue, but it returned days later.  Stumped!!

I also get a message that says a required resource is unavailable, but it does not say which resource.  Any ideas, I've been working on this issue since August and like I said, I thought I had it figured out when someone else on these forums pointed to the Roxio issue.

I don't mean to sound incompetent, but how do I figure out what my system configuration is??  I would love to get this issue resolved.

Darren,

The problem occurs in a public school computer lab.  I was told all of the computers are configured the same.  I'm assuming all PC'c have the same video card specs.  Only 3 of the 20 computers have this issue and it is very random when it does happen.  I agree with you being the video card, but can they be inconsistant from one PC to the next?  New video card(s) is your solution??  Thanks.

You probably accidentally hit the hot key for "Canvas Theme" which is "CA." Also found under View>Windows>Canvas Theme. Canvas Theme switches your canvas between white or black.
