Scheduling External Document References In System Objects

Is there a way to apply a predefined type parameter to revit objects such as floors?

I have been tasked by my business to investigate whether we can use our Revit models to generate schedules to show which, and how many of each, inspection/test certificate we need prior to handing over a completed Job.

My initial thought was to create a shared parameter and apply it as a type parameter, which works fine with objects that are created as family items and imported into the Revit project, however it doesn't work so well with things such as floors.  Applying the type parameter to floors is straight forward enough, but is there a way of setting the value for this parameter so that it is always present, irrespective of the floor type?

I suspect that the answer may well be no, in which case does anyone have any other ideas as to how I could tackle the issue as I am drawing a blank?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

This blog post - Shared Type Parameter - seems to indicate that it is possible to assign either a shared type parameter or a shared instance parameter to various system families but I couldn't find the list of system families that can have a new parameter "bound" to them. Maybe post your request to the Revit API Forum

Look into a "user" keynote system : About Types of Keynotes

You will be able to show which certificates are required with a keynote legend but not the quantity required per type in a schedule.

Hope this helps,
