Scheduling - cant evaluate a null (nil) field

Is it possible for Revit to evaluate a null/nil field and have the result of the test display a numeric value. My formulas work fine until they encounter a null/nil field. I've even tried the 'greater than 0' trick, with no success. HELP!

In my opinion, the green circled field should be '1'...

My question is why are some things in the "L Estimated Demand" column returning a NULL value at all? That seems odd. It's got to have some value.

if there are no 'Lighting' fixtures loads connected to that panel, it remains null - it does not begin as '0' like numerical values do in Revit.

This isn't a discipline specific question.  I am not sure asking it over at the MEP forum makes the answer any different.

Since this is a very deep question, the Autodesk rep asked me to create and post a video demonstrating the problem. Here is that video:

I am not sure why they needed a video.  The behavior with Null value has always been like that.  It is not an isolated case whatsoever.

Great Screencast. This is like a "model" screencast.

So this would be a recommendation to make for Revit improvement or enhancement. This is done at Revit Ideas.

I found two existing ideas that overlap with this:

Use empty integer parameter in formula's in Schedules

Formulas and Filters: Null Value OR Assumed Value, and Other Ideas

Please add a comment to these ideas and add your Screencast link to one or both of those ideas and vote them up. Or …post your own idea. Then promote your idea by posting a link to the idea back here in this thread.  Also, email any of your contacts that would like to see this implemented in Revit and ask them to vote too

If my reply was helpful, please "Like" or click the "Accept as Solution" button below (or both).

Try filtering that parameter by "is greater than" and put value 1.

@gaurav_nirmalkar

Did you try this before posting? Because it does not work.
