Excuse my dumbness but im an Revit Newbie - Autocad for 30 year. We do commercial kitchen fitout and I am struggling to understand the best way to do this in Revit. I've got the basics with families, modelling in place etc but
1. Need to schedule the whole kitchen in a single schedule ( equipment, benches, shelves, cool rooms, etc) How do you do this
2. Creating bespoke benches and stainless elements. Can you import.a family and then EXPLODE (or revit equivalent) to use as a basis for the new element that you may never use again. Also, should this be a family, group or assembly ??/
Any guidance would be appreciated
1) You can schedule multiple elements, of different categories, in a single schedule. That is a called a multi-category schedule. However, that kind of schedule can show only those parameters that are common to all the multiple categories, such as "type", "comments", etc., not all the parameters that you could show of an individual category.
2) Yes, you can create almost anything you need in Revit families. But there's a lot to learn first. And, please forget about that word that wrote in uppercase, which comes from your background of 30 years in "the other program"... ![]()
