I have a small residential project which has a Timber Deck on a Patio, and also a Timber Decking Stair leading up to the front door from Natural Ground Level.
I am trying to get a total Area m² to ask contractors to do quotations but I am unable to schedule the material to get a total.
I tried the following:
I am trying to do it this way because I feel like measuring stuff manually is a "nefarious" process within a Revit Model.
Can anybody recommend a workaround or perhaps an official way of doing this?
See Screenshot Attached.
Thanx in advance.
Of course you can create Material takeoff schedule from multiple categories.
In this case, the schedule is filtered by material name, show all categories were material is available and calculate totals for Area parameter.
I could do it in Revit 2023, BTW I don't know if it can be done in previous versions:
Don't extract the "Multi category schedule," better if we do the schedule in the following manner; then, you will get all the items take-off or scheduled.
Go to View and select Schedule:
Please do material take-off for Stair detail take-off.
If you still face issues for Stair only, you have to take measurements either in Revit or cad, though if you need the no. of trade and riser, that is possible in Revit extraction.
Let me know if this works, or connect further support if needed.
"Rise from tour grave", gentlemen.
I'm trying to make a material takeoff for a material used in different types of families: walls and floors, mostly, but also for stairs treads and risers. The material takeoff "material:area" parameter seems to work properly for walls and floors, but for stairs . . . it counts the area of every face of tread or riser. I made a test in a small model to verify:
I'm I doing something wrong, or it's just the way it is for these elements?
(also important: material takeoffs counts stairs, runs and landings! So be sure to filter runs and landings off the schedules.)
