Schedule Wall Material percentages per view?

I got a request and I am not sure it can even be done.

I would like some help creating a schedule that has calculations built in to show an overall percentage of a material or wall type for a particular elevation.

Anyone have an idea?

Thanks y'all,

Donnia Tabor

For a particular view?  Or do you mean a particular façade?

...if the latter, I'm thinking Assembly to start with.

A schedule for a wall, and in a named view.

Assembly Schedule and Filter by Sheet.  That's what I'm thinking.

You get where I'm going; right?

Either Assembly or just customize a Wall MTO by filtering in/out the information you want it to report and then place it on the Sheet next to the Elevation View.

I'm not really clear on the requirements, but perhaps a "Legend Phase" could work here as well.  A "Legend Phase" is a Phase that starts before any construction Phases begins.  The Facade would be copy/pasted to this Phase and all it's elements' Phase Demolished set to the subsequent Phase so none of it's elements impact on the actual Construction Phases.  Views and Schedules would then be created in this Legend Phase.  Schedules are Phase Specific.

Select walls on that elevation, enter the elevation view name to the walls' comments, create wall material take off schedule and filter by comments.

FWIW: Just to clarify on what I meant by "customize a Wall MTO by filtering in/out the information you want it to report", this is what I was referring to:

Another thing I would do is to change wall corner joints to Miter incase you have wraparound conditions.

What! That's exactly what I suggested.

"Customize a Wall MTO by filtering in/out the information you want it to report"

I didn't think an "Expert Elite" would need more than that.  I even hesitated to post the follow-up link about Schedule Filters for fear it would come across as condescending.

And then the designer comes back with, "I don't really need it by view I guess."

I still love my new job!
