Schedule levels of Generic model two level based family

Hi,

I cant able to schedule Base level & Top levels of the generic model family, any ideas regarding this.

By default, levels will not come for schedule. However, there's a work around:- you may create a shared parameter of levels and extract them in your schedule.

Thanks for your reply, Levels are built-in parameter. We can write levels manually but i want it should be automated

Hello,

As far as I understand, you have a family designed by someone else and you want to commit its parameters to the schedule list. There is no other way than shared parameters. You have to re-create the parameters yourself as shared parameters. Or you need to get the shared txt from the manufacturer of the family.

Can you post the family so I can see what is in it. ?

 

As is, the OOTB options for scheduling does not or cannot extract and schedule ALL built in parameters. And if the parameter is user defined it must be a shared parameters. Then you can either 

  1. look up values and fill manually 
  2. or use dynamo to extract such info and set it as values in shared parameters in those generic models

 

An alternative without dynamo would be to model those families in a Category that allows you to schedule Top Level and Bottom Level...example as structural columns
