Schedule Image Disappearing

Hello,

I have created several generic annotations with types and images associated with them in the family editor. After I loaded them into my project, I created a schedule and the images along with the other parameters were present for each type that was defined. However, when I updated the family and then reloaded it, the image is blank but still shows in the family editor. Is there a trick to this?

Thank you,

Carol

I don't have that issue when I tested it. If I edit the family, swap an image of a type to another image and reload, the schedule updated correctly.

Here is what I do:

1. Create a new family based on the Generic Annotation template.

2. Draw the symbol

3. Add a parameter for image

4. Add a new type to the family

5. Add the image to the new type

6. Save and load into my project

7. Add the symbol to a floorplan view

8. Create a Note Block schedule for the symbol

9. Edit the symbol family

10. Add a new parameter, such as Elevation

11. Fill that parameter out, ensure the image parameter is still filled out

12. Save and load into my project

13. The schedule loses the image but if I edit the properties of the symbol in my plan view the image name is shown

Do the images need to be loaded into the project too?

I see.  How about Sort your schedule by Type, Unitemize instances, add an Instance Image parameter directly to the schedule and assign an image for each row.  When you copy or create similar symbols on plan, the assigned image will still be in the new instances.  Only if you create symbols from the browser then you need to add the image again in schedule.

Hi,

Your suggestion to add an instance parameter worked. So I guess this can be marked solved. I guess I'll remove the images from the family and just load them into the project. Doesn't really make sense to me but I don't have a lot of time to "play" around.

Kind Regards,

Carol
