Schedule Field Help

I’ve created some additional Type parameters for a Door and Frame Schedule such as for door / frame gauge, finish, hardware, etc., and the parameter type is ‘text’. They all work fine, but I can only edit the new parameters by going into the family type. Editing the fields in the schedule has no effect. Is this correct behavior, or did I do something wrong? I still get confused on the relationships of how information appears in schedules, the Project Browser, and Family Types. Can anyone recommend a video to look at?

Are you using Shared parameters? if so, did you create project parameter to go along with it?

No, I am not using shared parameters, and embarrassed to say I need to look
them up to see exactly how they work! Thank you for the heading me in the
right direction.

@PhilvK Dont be embarrassed! We are all in this together :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:  Shared Parameters are key to making the whole family/tagging/scheduling experience flow. I have a video that might help :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

If you are indeed using Shared Parameters in the Families, the what it sounds like to me is that the Parameters fields in the Schedule are not the Parameters fields in the Families. Important to understand, is that Shared Parameters are shared by GUID -- not by their Name.  So for instance, you could have several Families with an "ABC" Parameter, but unless they all use the exact same "ABC" Shared Parameter -- from the exact same Shared Parameter Text File-- they are not Sharing the same one, even though the Name is the same.  If you look at the list available Parameter fields in the Schedule and see duplicate names (e.g. several "ABC" Parameters), then those duplicates have different GUIDs. They are not Shared.

Add them as Shared parameters in the family so that they will be available as fields when you create the schedule in project.  DO NOT add the parameters again in project.
