Schedule elements in a secondary option of linked model

Is it possible to schedule elements in a secondary option of linked model?

I have failed to do so in Revit 2021. The only setting concerning links in a schedule seems to be "Show elements in links" and that I have checked. I think that schedules will only ever see primary options and the main model.

Background: The secondary option contains elements that are not supposed to be displayed in any existing or new views unless explicitly requested. I.e. I don't want to use filters (less reliable) or worksets (linked model is not workshared).

I'm not at a PC right now and can't recall if schedules work with design options. Even if they do, there is no "and" for options within the same set and any view will work with only one option per set.

The workaround is, as an example: if you need to have that much control, you may have a set of options for room geometry, and a set of options for the furniture layout for each of the room geometry options.

Be aware tough that by doing that you may have problems hosting some components in others.

Thanks for the reply.

I know how options work. I'm fine with scheduling just one option. Problem is it's a secondary option in a linked model and I'm unable to tell the schedule, as opposed to e.g. a plan view, "For a linked model L1, consider elements of option L1_O2".

I don't understand how your workaround should be of any help.

My workaround only applies for options within the same model. For linked models, other views allow you to choose an specific option to display for each of the linked instances. You'll find it under Visibility/Graphic Overrides. I can't recall if it's possible in schedules, but I'll check when I arrive at the office.

In your schedule go to V/G overrides.

Here you can control the design options for each link.

@vancikv

You can schedule the Secondary DO from links...

  1. Open the schedule
  2. Override Link to Custom or By Link
  3. Then override the DO to custom and set the secondary

Thanks, I totally missed that, but it makes sense. Never looked for V/G overrides in schedules and it turns out that link settings is the only thing they contain.
