Schedule 2D Areas

Quick Question,

I need to take areas from my elevations, for use in a seperate softwrare to illustrate regulatory compliance. I have beeen using filled regions to get the areas, I can name them so that they can be referenced bak to the elveation, but i cant tag the area of the region. Is it possible to create a tag that will tell you the area of the region and schedule it?

Is it possible to calculate areas using line based families?

Any suggestions would be greatly apprecciated! I have attached a screenshot of what the current office solution is, drawing a aregion with no fill and manually filling out the text!

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread.

I've got the same goal as the original poster, except I'm trying to schedule the parameter, not tag it. This dynamo script seems like a solution but I'm getting an error on the final node "The parameter's storage type is not a string".

Anyone have ideas?

2025 calling here. It is still not possible to schedule the Area-parameter of filled regions, no? I see various Dynamo workarounds with shared parameteres and stuff, but those should strictly speaking not be the way to solve, what in my view should be an easy fix (and easy win) for Autodesk to implement! Why on earth can't we still schedule this? We use filled regions for getting the load bearing area of columns and walls. If we could schedule the area it would help out immensely.

You can maybe use area plans instead of filled regions.
