Scaffolding Family Revit

Hello friends,

I want to produce the pictures in Revit.
How should I follow this?
Is it necessary to produce all of them individually?
I want to present the scaffolding system in terms of quantity and visibility.

Warm Regards.

I would create them individually and nest them into one host family of a scaffolding unit.

Have you created all of them in a general family format?

Thanks

I would if I had to create them. Have I? No.

Agreed,

Create families separately and then nest them.

Don't forget to tick the "shared" box in the category properties panel for quantifying (Create > Properties > Family and Category parameters)

Idealy, make a few strategically designed repetitive and parametric host family with swappable components that hosts your components and has a few basic layouts integrated

It might take you a while but the time saving would be amazing if used in the long run for presenting different configurations for projects.

Cheers,

François

HI, Any progress with your scaffold family? Take a look at mine, I am no Revit Expert so feedback welcome! I intend to add more so please consider this a WIP.

You guys sure are making fantastic scaffolding in Revit. No doubt about that.

Is there a business purpose? Or are you just doing it for fun and practice?

I would think a simple box shape could be adequate to lay-out scaffolding on a construction drawing. No?

Hi, thanks! Partly for fun and practice but also potential business use. I work in a multi discipline practice Arch, Structural, Civil and Temporary Works. The Structural and Architectural BIM advancements have left the TW outputs looking 'old hat'. I am trying to bring the TW output up to date and do something a little different.

It makes sense in the context of a presentation drawing for a client, or something like that where you really want the pop of detailed reality to impress people.

The only reason I asked is because I'm fairly strongly in the camp of, "Just because you can doesn't necessarily mean you should." If your end game is simple construction drawings - just for example - why make the drawing more cluttered than it needs to be, and why make your file size any heavier than it needs to be. Know what I mean?
