Saving problem..!

Hello everyone, i  am learning revit from internet but i have i problem about the saving file while  i am working in same file i am saving it but when i press the ''SAVE'' revit creates me new file. i could not understand  how to fix it so is there anyone know the solution of this?

Are you pressing SAVE or SAVE AS? 

Or are you talking about the Backups Revit automatically creates; which are numbered like this: [File Name].001.rvt ?

i am pressing  ''SAVE'' from keyboard   CTRL+S 

yes it give me [File Name].001.rvt but itsnot backup  while i am working on project i am saving the file several time

Thanks for the solution credit, but it doesn't sound like we solved the issue.  Are you okay now, or are you experiencing odd saving behavior?

Okay then, let's solve it for real.  Can you clarify what is happening? You say you press CTRL-S and what happens at that point? Are you saying that drawing name shown at the top of your screen changes to a new name?

the main file stays but it creates new file like this  [File Name].001.rvt , [File Name].002.rvt ...

Those are BACKUPS. They are automatically created.

i understand but if i  save  20 times in one project it will creates me those file in the folder which is not good is there any option to close it or to stay in a certain number?

yes it seem solved ofcourse this is not good to create new extra file it can be improve like ''AUTOCAD'' and it should be i hope it can be fixed..      I'm really grateful to you.
