Hello,
The original revit file failed to open . I opened the most recent backup file and it was successfully open. but when I save it the dialog box "confirm Save Location" Do you want to save it as original file instead?" When I press yes it says "failed to open document.
So I was only saving my work in the backup file, is there a way to save the backup file as original file when you don't have access to the original one?
Regards
ps. this is my first forum I probably didn't post the question in the right forum location

This is confusing to me. You say the original failed to open and you say you don't have access to it.
If you do have access to it through file explorer, can't you just delete the original file that is giving you troubles?
Thanks for reply
I was worried if I delete it I would be in trouble. so if I delete it , can i save the backup as a new original file?
and if so , will the new original file have auto-backups of its own?
It's a good idea to save back-up copies of everything in a separate location whenever you are trouble shooting just in case.
