I want to do exactly this, shown on the picture (from https://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2024/ENU/?guid=GUID-C3B5FB82-3247-48F6-82F0-73011A0F8027)

use the same floor plan but with different view template, How do I do? Do I nbeed to make a copy of the view, or do I assign the view template in the sheet view?

You duplicate the view then apply a view template to each; one example would be similar to the image you posted,

  • one view with shadows + no annotations
  • and the other view (its duplicate) without shadows + annotations

THANK YOU!

What kind of "Duplicate" do I use? Duplicate, duplicate with detailing, duplicate as dependent?

I want all my changes in the building design to be changed on all the views. How do I do? In what view do I do my work?

Just a simple duplicate would do...unless you wish to also duplicate the annotations (Sections/Elevations/dimensions/2D details/Text Notes/Generic Annotations) then you would use duplicate with detailing.

  • All plan views (except 2D views such as detail and legends views) are live dynamic views. Any change in terms of 3D modeling/components will be applied/reflected in all views. IE: if you add a roof element, a floor element, doors, windows or any loadable family, you will find it in all other views unless its category is hidden or filtered
  • Duplicate with Detailing, duplicates the view and copies both 3D Component and annotations one time. Future modification/insert of 3D components will be reflected in all views but the addition of new 2D annotations such as dimensions strings and text notes will not propagate to other views
  • Duplicate as dependant would generate a view that shows the same model elements in the parent view and at the same time has shared annotations and visibility settings with the original view. IE: Any change made in the dependent view (both in terms of annotations and model graphics) will be reflected in the original view, and vice versa.

The image you have posted is a simple Duplicate

Hi @myUAVW6 ,

Simple answer:

Duplicate as dependent won't work as they will have the same setting. Only Crop and manual hiding/graphics override can be performed.

So Duplicate or Duplicate with detailling is left:

If there's any detailling in the view that needs to be in the other view (like RoomTags, FilledRegion, 2D line, anything view specific) then use Duplicate with detailling, in all other cases use Duplicate.
