RPC tree - Size as instance parameter

How do I set the size of these to be an instance parameter?

Thank you

Matthew

By default the parameter applied for height is a type built-in parameter and can't be edited but there is an alternative solution for this.

You need first to create an instance parameter

Select the element and go to the height parameter in the properties palette

Change it to the instance parameter that you just created.

Here is a video with sound to better visualize the solution

That changes the elevation / model.

How do I get that same parameter to change the plan symbol at the same time?  I am getting an error message in the parameter I created about Constraints are not satisfied.  I tried to put the other parameter as a formula for a diameter dimension.  ??

Thank you for your help. it is appreciated.

Sorry for the late response, i was off last week.

So concerning the plan symbol, It seems the built-in parameter is the one who is controling everything.

I tried to find an alternative solution such as exporting the symbol in dwg and reimport is as cad link and using the scale factor but without any success.

For now i think the best thing you could do is to duplicate the family type with different name and size to be able to get what you want.

On my side i will flag the development team about it to see if there is another solution and also to enhance the the planting symbol parameter.

I wanted to follow up to see if there's a better way to do this now?

Hello
Stumbled upon this post by accident.
Yes, there is a way to control the size of the plan symbol, for which the symbol must also be a nested family (planting into planting).
Then, to control the size of this nested family, you create an instance parameter, and can play with it in the project.
