Rotating Tags to Titlesheet Orientation

Hello,

I'm often drawing residential projects that are too large to fit on a standard 24x36 horizontal title sheet. I therefore must rotate my views on the title sheet to fit on a single page without cutting the plan. I default to rotating counterclockwise 90 degrees for dimension orientation purposes.

Once my plans are rotated, I detail as necessary. However, my wall & footing tags do not rotate in the proper fashion on the title page. Even when editing the family to uncheck "keep readable" and load back into the project, this still does not rotate the text in my tags the way I want it to. They still remain either vertical, or horizontal upside down. Please provide any workarounds you have discovered for this issue.

Thank you!

You might also consider using a larger sheet size so your views can be horizontal.

Rotate the Crop Boundary - Not the Viewport.

Gentlemen, this was exactly what I was needing. Thank you very much! WAY simpler than I would have thought.

Cheers!

Hi,

i'm running into the exact same issue.

Someone placed the floorplans on a sheet and rotated the entire floorplan on sheet, now the tags are vertical instead of horizontal and they refuse to be rotated correctly.

I've tried following the link above and place a new floorplan on the sheet and try to rotate it's crop boundary but then the floorplan remains vertical and just places itself somewhere else. Literally refusing my command.

any tips?

Hi m-de-lange,

See the attached photo for solution. You'll want to unhide your crop region, select and rotate it whichever way you need to in order to "flip your plan" to fit on a sheet. Most text will rotate with the plan, unless they're grouped. That will be a manual rotate afterwards. But at least your dimensions, walls tags, section heads, text, etc. will all be properly shown according to traditional drafting standards.

Hope this helps.
