It used to be very easy to rotate and object after it was placed but now, in Revit 2022, if I do not rotate the object when first placed, it will not rotate it but a warning will be given that two identical objects are in the same place. See below
Any ideas
I am finding the same issue. I have a "pipe accessories" system family for a valve. In Revit 2018. as a stand alone component I can rotate it to any angle in plan view AND I can rotate it to any angle in section view ... In revit 2022 ... same scenario but it will not rotate in section view.
"Generic" families have always refused to rotate in a section view (Z plane) but "pipe accessories" and "pipe fittings" have always rotated until now.
If anyone has any answers please. This is crazy
An old trick in the book is to create a group of the object, rotate the group, then explode the group. Could be worth to give it a try.

No issue here.
No solution, but also weird things happening when rotating:
rotate an object (workplane: level, view: level), center of rotation in the corner
input:
result: object has an offset from the center of rotation.
Also: rotating multiple objects (workplane: level, view: level) without changing center of rotation:
When typing 90° or manually rotating 90° the objects rotate 180°. When typing or rotating 180° the objects rotate 360°
input:
result:
I'm having the same issues in Revit 2022 working with an .rvt upgraded from 2021
I solved this by deselcting "disjoin" in the options when rotate command is initiated:
Thanks for the work around. One day I can only pray that Autodesk actually fixes their software instead of relying on its user base to memorize a series of exceptions and work arounds.
I'm getting the same issue. simply rotating any level hosted object just dosn't work.
I first noticed a chair not rotating in a plan, so I swaped it out for better family, no difference.
also having the issue with Casework and Entorage category familys (anything level hosted).
does not work regardless of "Disjoin" ticked or unticked.
If I have "copy" ticked then I just get 2 elements in the same place, no rotation, and a warning about identical instances.
it's only when the host is on something other than a Level.
e.g. a surface or a floor.
hosted on a level it works as normal
