Hi,
is there a way to rotate model view in Revit?
The architect sent me north oriented model causing me troubles with reinforcement drawings. What I would like is to virtually place model orthogonally.
Regards!
Project north - True north
edit: or you could also rotate it as linked file and bind it as such in a new file?
Was it aligned before and now it's not? Or is this the first time you've linked the Arch Model? If you haven't established a shared positioning you need to rotate the Arch Link in your Model and Acquire its Coordinates. I would be curious where the coordinates originated. Perhaps the Architect Acquired them from a Survey. You ought discuss/coordinate this with the Architect.
Hi,
I tried to set up project north but I need permission from other users. It is VPN central model.
Regards!
Project North? I think you are confused. May I ask you something? Why don't you just rotate the Architectural into position within your own Project. Your answer to this question will reveal some answers to other questions I have of you.
Hmm apologies, I think my initial post was confusing. I though you were working on the same file with/as the architect. And then probably he/she should work with project north, so your model would be right side up. So yes, in case you've received an architectural model follow above replies and/or either coordinate with the architect to do the same and maybe set up the project with project north ie. orthagonally in the first place... assuming the project has a reasonably straight-forward floorplan...
Place a scope box around the project, rotate the scope box so it is parallel to the way you want your view.
Then apply scope box to your views.
Well I guess you could do that for viewing purposes, but scope boxes -as they are- lack precision...
In what way? Some projects have different sections at different angles, so project north can't help that much. Scope boxes are good for this situation. They can be rotated accurately if required.
True enough, I guess scope boxes are a reasonable solution. But rotate&acquire coordinates is preferable I suppose, depending on the project probably.
