Rotate Drafting Patterns

Why is it that we can rotate Model Patterns, but not Drafting Patterns?

We have a lot of details that need a Filled Region with a pattern at other than 0 or 90 degrees and we can't always use a Detail Component that has an embedded pattern.

(And, yes, I'm on the beta program.  I've Wish Listed this for many years now)

As you pointed out this is a long time wish item that development is aware of. I'm not sure if this will change in a future release, so it would seem that one of the many current work-a-rounds will have to be used for now. I will make sure to forward this to the development team. Thank you for posting.

Did this ever get sorted out?

No. But you can get the Hatch Kit add-in and modify an existing pattern.

Does this still work in Revit?  I just need to rotate one drafting pattern.  Is it still worth installing?  Thanks.

Regards Peter.

I'll answer my own question.  I downloaded the Hatchkit 4 add on from the Autodesk Revit App Store.  It is the exe file that works for all versions of Revit up to 2023.  Needed to rotate one drafting-filled region and it was super easy to do.  Just duplicate and rotate 90 degrees in the dialogue box.  It would be nice if Autodesk added a bit more functionality to their filled regions but this worked really well.

Cheers Peter.

You can also use pyRevit to create your own custom hatches. Suuuuuper easy.
