Rotate Copy Furniture family Error

I am having issues when trying to rotate copy a chair. I want to rotate and copy the chairs around a table but am getting an error. I notice when I change the family to work plane based it allows me to copy rotate. Has anyone seen this issue before. ?

Sounds as though you may have duplicates. First of all, select the chair by crossing window to see in properties what and how many objects have been selected.

What did the warning say?  The chairs may be constrained to the table (e.g. center to center) so that Revit did not allow you to rotate them.

I'm sure you will be able to replicate the issue (Speaking for Revit 2017):

If you open any furniture and copy rotate (any angle) you will get an error telling you that it is duplicated and it will place two on top of each other. 

A way around the issues I have found is to change the family to work plane based instead of level.

You keep referring to copy rotate. Do you mean radial array?

Using the rotate tool, check the copy option in the options bar then rotating the element is what I meant.

try not copy it but create an analog.

Thanks Stanis. My question is why is their an error using this tool. I am aware I can copy the furniture to the same position and rotate without a copy and that would work fine but I want to know the reason for the error. It is not clear why this is not possible.
