Hi All!
I am relatively new to Revit and am trying to learn the ropes. I have built a model which consists of a building which has rooms. These rooms are separated by different walls. When I try and place rooms automatically, I get only 5 rooms (I should be getting 11). I am not able to understand where am I going wrong? Is it got something to do with the boundary limits? When I try and place room separators, I get a warning - "A wall and a room separation line overlap. One of them may be ignored when Revit finds room boundaries. Shorten or delete the room separation line to remove the overlap."
Does anyone have suggestions as to what am I doing wrong?
Are all the walls set to Room Bounding? Do any walls have Base offset from the Level? How thick are they?
Walls offset from Level and walls too thick create gaps that compromise Room generation.
Thanks, I found my mistake. My walls were snapped to my foundations. I did have one more question - Is there we can hide certain elements when working in that particular plan layout for a few minutes. Like say suppose I can see my building foundations as well in plan layout and currently it becomes hard to decipher whether these are foundations or room walls. Is there a way I could switch off the foundation and draw out my walls and then switch on my foundation.
I'm sorry for not being able to explain this properly. Please let me know if you'd want me to clarify this more
Yes. Select one element you want to hide and click the sunshades icon bottom left. Then you can choose one of the hide/isolate option. For example, select one foundation, click the shades and choose Hide category.
When done, click the shades again and choose restore.
Another question I had was - when I try and put columns in between walls. The area is not considered as a room. I have to drag the walls through the columns to show that the enclosure is a room
