Roombook Extension 2020

Hello,

I am a new user on Revit 2020. I am trying to get Roombook to work. But it always launches an alert stating that families are missing. We just re-installed and it still gives problems upon most commands. Which families exactly is it missing?

I notice that the version just installed is build 1104 (2018).

If I use the extension on a new project there are no problems but some conversion is performed from 2018 to 2020.

The paths in Options > File Locations > Places are set and point to the hopefully proper folders in US Imperial (is that even right, and if yes, why US?)

Thank you for your help.

@Anonymous

In windows explorer, GO to the folder location which you see there under option and make sure it is actually there...and the families are therein

What if you click OK and try to load it manually?

I tried now to load each of these three:

and they all give me this error:

... this will hopefully help others.

Since the issue was clearly file based -a new project file would not display it, I tried this:

  • created a clean new project with rooms and run "Flächen berechnen" (Calculate Rooms). This generated the needed conversion from 2018 to 2020 (why do we need this?)
  • saved the families in our main project folder
  • re-loaded the families from our real project file overwriting thus whatever mistake. Whereby here I discovered that the "Flaechenzuweisung" (Area Assignment) was empty. It must have purged at one point by mistake.
  • I could now launch the dialog "Flächenbuch Erweiterung": but I still had the alert about the missing family.
  • What seemed to fix it, was to change this field from "Flaechenzuordnung" to the longer value in the screenshot:

Now I have more questions: I wish to adapt the calculations to the Swiss environment: from DIN 277 to SIA 416 (2003).

The SIA 416 is somewhat between the DIN 277 (1987) and (2016). I would need to:

  • rename NUF into NF, TF into FF
  • add distinction between Haupt- and Nebenflächen -this was dropped in DE with the DIN 277 (2005) but roughly corresponds to "7-Sonstige Nutzung" in  the DIN 277 (2016)

How do the Swiss colleagues do this? Do you use this extension? Can I simply rename the labels? As I said, I just began with Revit some weeks ago.

Thank you
