Hi Everyone,
First time posting on the Autodesk forums. We are having an issue with tagging rooms of a linked model in which the tag is not displaying calculated values. We are using Revit 2019.2.4.
We want to calculate the occupancy of rooms by dividing its Area by a shared instance parameter called 'UFA_Factor Unit'. This factor is different for each room. We have set up a room tag with a calculated value, using the following formula:
(roundup((round(Area / 1000 mm / 1000 mm)) / UFA_Factor Unit)
When this tag is used in the same model as the rooms, it works perfectly. However in our office, we have separate models for the building and annotations/title block etc. The problem now surfaces. When we tag a linked model containing the building (and the rooms), the calculated value is not displayed. The other parameters in the tag display fine, it is just the calculated value is missing, as seen below.
Any help would be much appreciated! Many thanks!
Raymond
Yah, I can't readily figure it out. It doesn't work in 2019 or 2020. In 2023 it works fine and dandy. I'm at a loss for a quick solution. Guess I'm out.
... or, both Rooms in Parent:
Which version of Revit are you using? It seems to have been resolved in 2021 and onwards. But in our office, we are stuck with 2019.
We have separated the building model from the annotation model so that it would be more efficient. Seems to be the way how most of our Revit projects are delivered. Although having many linked models also has its drawbacks.

Well then, all the Rooms in the "Annotation" Model would be the way to go. No? That was my first suggestion.
Good idea, thanks! From my observation however the rooms and the building are in the same model.

Well then, if you don't want to recreate and tag rooms in the "annotation model", then the other alternative is to display the Link View that has the Room and Tag in the "annotation model" View. That's the BY LINKED VIEW option I mentioned above.
We're currently using Revit 2019.2.4. We may need to consider upgrading to a version later than 2020 in order to avoid this issue.
This is also possible. Will see what the BIM manager says. Thanks very much!
