Room tag family showing two dimentions in one

Hi there!

I have an attic floor where part of the surface is counted as 100% and part of it in 50%.

I made the room schedule adjusted to this requirement but I don't know how to adjust a room tag to it so that it would be one tag counting two areas.

In order to have the desired room schedule I created 2 parameters:

- first named Coefficient : (project parameter, number value) marked as "1" for regular spaces and "0.5" for those attic parts

- second named 50% (shared parameter, yes/no) specyfing which area should be considered as 50%

In the schedule I added a calculated parameter for 50% which goes as follows: Coefficient *Area - I then renamed it in the schedule formatting as "True Area" and marked "calculate totals". This works well in the schedule but I don't see a way of how to make use of it in room tagging :verwirrtes_Gesicht:

Do you have any advice? :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

Hi Daria,

The Process is simple:

1. Edit the Room Tag family

  • Create a Label text for the Real Area
  • Create a Shared parameter named as "Coefficient" (NUMBER)
  • Create a formula value "Area*Coefficient"
  • Reamed the Room Tag Family
  • Load the new family into the project

2. In the project, create a project parameter (Instance parameter)

  • Choose the same Shared parameter "Coefficient" used in the Room tag Family
  • Aplly just for Rooms

3. Tag a Room using the new Room Tag

4. Change the Room instance Property value "Coefficient" to 1 or 0.5
