Room Schedule and Phasing

I have a bunch of Rooms and Room numbers on a plan that is set to the Existing Phase, and these Rooms and numbers appear on this plan only. When I go the Room Schedule, they appear on the schedule as expected when the Phasing for the schedule is set to Existing. However, when I set the Phasing to New Construction, they still appear. Is this because they haven’t been demolished in any phase?

Also, when I switch the phasing on the schedule from Existing to New Construction, a few of the Rooms are now being shown in the schedule as being “Not Placed”. Why is that?

Check which "Phase created" under Properties of the Rooms.

Also check Phase Created and Phase Demolished for the Walls which bound the Rooms.

When I select the Room, all I have is Phase (not Phase Created), and it is showing Existing, and both are grayed out. The surrounding walls are all Existing.

Also, when I switch the phasing on the schedule from Existing to New Construction, a few of the Rooms are now being shown in the schedule as being “Not Placed”. Why is that? Are you sure it's the same room? Remember that once a room is created, it still remains in the model until you delete in a room schedule. If it is, is "not placed" because isn't properly enclosed anymore.

Rooms, unlike other elements in revit do not follow through from phase to phase. That is to say that if you create a room in the existing phase and go to a view in new construction phase you will not be able to see or tag the room as it only exists in the phase you create it in.

So if you can see rooms in your schedule in the new construction phase, this means that identical rooms have been created in the new construction phase also. 

This would also explain why the rooms are "changing" to unplaced. this is because it is a different room that was created in the new construction phase.
