Hello,
in our current project we're using window families with voids. Apparently the room function does not recognize the voids. Is there a way to adjust that? Changing the walls to non-bounding and drawing room separation lines might solve the problem, but would not be practical for us.
no other way? unless you edit your window family and delete the voids and use opening cut? thanks
the reason we use window families with voids are
a) we can control the stepwise cutouts in the outer brick wall with the window family. When moving or adjusting a window familiy / type the outer wall automatically adjusts for all openings in the project, which is very handy ..
b) instead of drawing a lot of separate wall segments of the inner concrete walls, we just draw one wall and control the openings with the voids
As Revit window families apparently can not handle both standard opening cuts and voids, the only way here is to use voids only. This works fine except for this room issue. So it would be great to find a solution for this ..
now that I think about it: I could split the inner concrete walls and add beams, in that case I could at least keep the window families for the outer walls ..
looking at your image , can't you adjust the void depth to match the exterior wall and flush up on the interior wall?
the room bounding will adjust once the void is reduced
You can edit profile the interior wall to add the opening matching the window.
