Hello. How do we insert a rooflight, where do we find them?

Hello @Anonymous

 

  1. You load them like any other family; there is simple one in Revit Library under windows
  2. You can model them using a window family
  3. Or you can straight in the project such as (on a flat roof) using roof by footprint then change roof to a curtain system
  4. U can also use mass in-place  extrude/form a shape/geometry and apply curtain wall to it using wall by face (also under massing&site)
  5. You can also download them from manufacturers' websites or other BIM sources/websites such a

If the roof light is placed on the first floor and we have a ground floor view and

we want to crop a view on the ground floor that only shows that rooflight above..

 

how can we achieve this?

you can go to www.familit.com and there find lighting and for the rof choose (uplight )lamp

Are the roof lights right above the ground floor area or are they off to the side?  I am still not clear about what you have.  Are you talking about showing exterior landscape lights placed on the grade level, on the basement floor plan?
