Roof with dormer or 2 roofs

Hello all,

We have a debate on how to make this roof.....

What I did is created 2 roof, the higher one using the pick walls option and the lower one just using a sloped roof up to the higher wall.  Then I did a roof by extrusion, set my ref. plan & created the eave extending up to the higher roof eave.  The only problem I have is I can't figure out why the 2 walls won't clean up (it looks like there is a gap, but plan shows different than the 3d view) - i checked my wraps to make sure they are exterior.  Also, I used linework (invisible line) to hide the roof extension at the higher roof.

The other tech. want to make a dormer but is struggling with it.

We are all learning, and all have different ideas, but are open for advice and suggestions to use this software correctly.

What way or are we both wrong?

I would have created the roof the same way as you, 2 separate roofs.  With the wall join, it sometimes will fix itself if you select the wall end grip ( in plan view ) and drag it away from the wall, then back to join the wall.
