Place your trusses in a "pre"-Existing phase. Call it "Truss Legend Phase" for example.  Set Phase Demolished for all the model elements in this Phase to the "Existing" phase. It's the same workflow we use for Curtain Wall Legends. Works well.

You can create Assembly from truss members and subsequently create Assembly views for legend.
