Roof section fill disappears what cut with void

Hi Guys, pulling my hair out hear, I hope I'm just missing something simple!

I would like to cut a roof with a family that includes a void. It works fine on one side, but when I apply the cut on the other, all the sectional information disappears from the roof. It's hard to explain, please see screenshots.

Draw the two voids in the same one in place family so you only cut the roof once.

Good idea but fortunately it leads to the same result, the sectional information in the roof disappears when cut both sides.

Hi @AndycMacp

I looked at your file and the option 'cut with voids when loaded' is checked.

Usually, this error occurs when that option is unchecked. (This is a failure of Booleans due to geometric inaccuracies) 

Can you also share a journal recording the steps?

If you can somehow add a little piece to the void like in the revised family then it will be okay (pic).  Or move the roof edge back a couple of centimeters, then add a fascia to cover the edges.

Thanks ToanDN, the revised RFA works. Any chance you could tell us why expanding the void made the difference?

I've been discussing your case with the dedicated resource team and we've had similar issues of Revit not automatically cutting a void from a roof, and also about a void cut failing.

Expanding the voids in some cases have not worked and the user has to manually cut them using the cut tool.

In some instances, this depends on model inaccuracies. We have a bug with regard to this issue that s currently under investigation.

Can you please elaborate on the below:

They would like to know what you mean by "the sectional information disappears from the roof", as it sounds like something that would either due to an incorrect cut by the void or some other, unrelated problem.

Do you mean sectional view and details?

Also, can you post the full model and journal to test further? The team will reproduce this in the next version.

The screenshots describe it best, you can see that in the second image the 'build-up' information has been lost when the roof has been cut by the family. The model is also attached to the first post if you need to recreate it.

The team has requested the playable journal and a full model if you have one (to see where the walls join the roof) and other elements as they want to test this further.

Ok. Well. Apparently, when your roof only consists of 1 layer: It works fine. So yeah... Stack different roofs on top of each other i guess. and hope that Autodesk will add angle controls to anyone surface of geometry in the future... Imagine that.
