Would like to see Revit come up with Roof Options. Under the Roof function you can have an Auto Generate selection. Under Auto Generate you can input the level, pitch, overhang, exterior perimeter or select walls. After that Revit will generate multiple options including dormers as the program sees it. From there you can select as many generated options as you want to present to the client or to your design staff. After selecting you can edit as needed. Similar to Generative Design. Creating a roof now is tedious. I was thinking about this when trying to create a roof for a multi-family residential facility.

Interesting. Like Generative Design. I like it. Post this on Ideas and I'll vote for it.
I received an error message stating the site was flooded with the same post. I may have hit post one too many times because I forgot to add a category. I'll try later and send you a link.
@barthbradley I posted the Roof Option in the Revit Idea forum. I could not find where to create a link.

After you input these information then there can only be only one option to be generated. Think about it.
I can usually can come up with 4-6 options for every roof I work on. Hip, gable, mansrud, offset, flat, etc.. Which can take hours. You can input only the options you want. You can leave slope off if you want non-uniform slopes or have option for top of wall instead of level or no input for a more variety of roof options. Again, this is just an idea. Open to suggestions or revamping.
