Roof Problem:
I am trying to modify the overhangs to 2'-0" (from face of stud) on this gable (a 1" difference each aside), but when I do all hell breaks lose and I get 50 warnings, followed by "can't make roof footprint error." This is a really minor change, can't figure it out. I have copied the roof to a different file (attached), copied linework into a new roof in a different file, audited the existing file- nothing worked. I could easily make that one section out of a separate roof, but why should I have to work around?!?!?!

I don't know what is up with that particular spot, but it does not like it! I can shift that gable 1" in either direction and it'll be fine. But that exact spot is a no-go. I've deleted the gable and completely redrawn it to negate and possible constraint issues, and it still errors out. But if you shift it 1/32" of an inch it'll work. As long as your dimensions aren't to that degree of accuracy, you'll probably never know it's off by a hair.
I see. By using slope arrows in lieu of define slopes I was able to resolve.
See attached.
These are the ones I did using Slope Arrows in lieu of Define Slopes.
That worked! Don't you love Revit.
I used one slope arrow for that entire roof plane and it took it.
Thanks for the help!
