Roof flashing

Does anybody know how to add roof flashing between a roof dormer and pitched roof?

I have created the family profile in roof fascias however I cannot select the line between the two to create flashing.

I have realised if you pick the nearest roof edge and offset it, it will sit in the correct place on the roof dormer.

Creating an opening in the roof around the dormer so you can select the connecting edge is also another option I have found.

I'm just curious here.... Is it your standard practice to actually model such elements?

I usually don't unless I've got some compelling reason to. A lot of stuff is just more simply done with detailing.

I usually do yes, as they are required in 3D views for certain projects! 

Most of they time they are relatively easy to do and save time later on.

Well, if somebody is REQUIRING them, then I guess you've got a compelling reason!
