I'm finding the tools for creating certain roof conditions a little bit lacking and need some insight: I'm working with an existing hip roof form that perpendicularly intersects another pitched section. I'm trying to find the best process for creating a condition where the hip roof meets the intersection without creating cutouts in the other roof. I found it difficult to create this condition without using the dormer tool but there are anemic options for customizing how this comes together.

Hi @Anonymous
You can use the Roof Join Tool to join 2 roofs together.
Start with 2 separate roofs
Use the Roof join Tool
Select the edge of the roof you want to extend to join the other roof
Then select the Face of the roof you want to join to.
Could also use touching Slope Arrows along the eave on both sides to create those "dormers' on both sides.
Ah. There you go. I knew I was missing something fundamental. To be honest, I rarely work with pitched roofs so I feel a little ignorant to some of these particular tool sets. Thanks so much for your response!
Huh?
"Dormer Area creates cutout of roof. Can dormer extensions be created without the cut?"
Boy, I completely failed to understand your question. Time for remedial reading classes for me. ![]()
