Hello so this issue is quite annoying. I created a curved form through mass so that i can make a complex curved roof using the roof by face tool . It worked multiple times before but when i had to delete the mass in order to make a better roof the roof by face arrow or picker wouldn't highlight the mass at all. The picker works for the wall and topo solid. The mass has a simple geometry i just wonder why it wouldn't pick it this time round yet previous masses were more complexspline through points
The created form cannot be picked by the roof by face
when I tried this, it had to do with how the end conditions were lined up.
if they were off, it wouldn't work.
basically the same shape, but when those end condition's weren't in line, it wouldn't make the roof. i could make it a Wall or Curtain System, but not a Roof.

I already deleted the file.....
I'll remake it though, just for you

You said you could create a wall by face with that shape then do it.
Here it is as a Wall by Face.

@ToanDN I didn't see you were replying to @careyokumbe, not me... sorry, my bad

hello thanks for this but problem with a wall is you cant really attach a wall to it or maybe i just dunno how to attach a wall to a wall in revit
I cant just wing it... i thought maybe there are principles to follow with the spline through points... yet i dunno what worked for me then
These are ordinary splines... how can you change the heights of those end points

In my simplified version, I just went into an elevation and adjusted them the spline. I assuming you made a series of splines and then selected them to make a solid form. If you make a Reference Plane or Section parallel to each spline,
you can use the Orient to View or Orient to Plane tools to set your view as needed.
The more fluid forms like that do seem to be finicky though. In my second example I had to remake the mass face and I couldn't get a roof to place. It would let me select it, but I got an error when it tried to make it. I'm sure if I played with it some I cold have gotten it to work.
What is the end product? Is that going to be a solid Roof, a Membrane, Glass, ...?

In instances where the roof by face can highlight the roof but brings an error of can't make roof, i earlier realized that it can work when you go to the picked faces location and choose switch the roof facing bottom rather than top at the properties panel

Good point. Can you share the mass?
